How to Change your Name on Facebook Mobile App

The steps on how to change your name on the Facebook app with your iPhone and Android are about the same, I have used an Android phone in this guide.

1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone/Android and click on the hamburger menu icon at the top right corner on your Facebook app.

2. Next, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Settings and privacy.

3. In the drop-down menu, click on Settings and then Personal Information.

4. Next, under General, click on Name, this will open up a page where you can edit your name.

5. You can choose to edit your first, middle name, and surname/last name, you’ll also be able to add other names such as a nickname by clicking on Add other names that’s just before the review change tab.

6. Click on Review change to see how your new name will appear in your Facebook account, then enter your Facebook password if you’re happy with the changes you’ve made.

7. To save the new name, you will need to enter your Facebook password. Click on Save changes and only do so if you’re 100% happy with the new name, this is because you won’t be able to change your Facebook name until after 60 days.

How to Change your Name on Facebook with Computer

1. Click on Account   in the top right of Facebook’s home page.

2. Next, in the drop-down menu, click on Settings & privacy with the gear icon, then click on Settings.

3. This should open up the General Account Settings page, the first tab should be your name.

4. Click on Edit on the right side of your name.

5. Next, you’ll be able to edit your first, middle name, and surname/last name, you’ll also be able to add other names by clicking on Add other names that’s just before the review change tab.

Why can’t I change my name on Facebook?

There are a few reasons you might have trouble changing your name on Facebook, check if it falls into any of these reasons below;

3. You recently changed your name. Remember, if you changed your name on Facebook in the last 60 days, you won’t be able to change it again. You’ll need to wait for at least 60 days before you can change your name on Facebook.

4. If you need to confirm your name on Facebook, or if you’ve lost access to your account, Facebook may ask you to send a copy of a document or ID with your name on it. If your name doesn’t match the name that appears on the items from Facebook ID list, you won’t be able to change your name.

How to Change your Name on Facebook Business Page

1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone/Android and click on the hamburger menu icon at the top right corner of your Facebook app.

2. From the list of the menu items, find and click  Pages.

3. This will take you to your Facebook page, click on the page you want if you’ve got multiple and then Settings in the top right.

4. Next, click Page info and then click your Page’s name to edit the name.

5. Enter a new page name and then click outside the page name box.

6. Review the new Page name and then tap Request Change to save the changes.
