How to Delete Coinbase Account

You probably already know that there are two types of Coinbase accounts, the Coinbase.com account, and the Coinbase pro account.

You need to be aware that deleting your Coinbase.com account will ultimately delete your Coinbase Pro account as well, and you can only delete your account through the web version of Coinbase.com.

1. Login to your Coinbase account on a web browser.
2. On your profile page, scroll down and select Close Account.
3. Alternatively, click on the “Activity” tab, scroll down and select Close Account.
4. Make sure your acouunt balance is 0 before you begin.
5. If you have any remaining balance in your wallet, send it to an external wallet or a fellow Coinbase user.
6. Tap the “Close Account” button and you will then be prompted to enter your password.
7. You wll get email notification to advise your Coinbase account has been closed.

How to Delete Coinbase Account on Phone

You can only delete your Coinbase account using your mobile phone if you sign in to your account on a mobile browser. It is currently not possible to delete or close your Coinbase account via the Coinbase app.

1. Login to your Coinbase account on a mobile phone web browser.
2. Click on Menu then click on Settings.
3. Next, from the dropdown arrow click on the “Activity” tab, scroll down and select Close Account.
4. Make sure your acouunt balance is 0 before you begin.

How to Delete Coinbase Account Without Verification

You may find that you need to verify your identity before you can delete your Coinbase account. You also need to provide some form of identification/ID verification before you can transfer funds from your wallet elsewhere.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to close your Coinbase account without verification, you will need to provide verification before you can transfer funds/ close your account.

To delete/close your Coinbase pro account, click the ‘Close Account’ button located near the bottom of the Account Activity page.
