Learning how to disable comments on Facebook is not straightforward, but you can control who leaves a comment on your Facebook post by changing some settings in your Facebook account. To do this, please follow these steps;
1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone/Android and click on the hamburger menu icon at the top right corner of your Facebook app.

2. Next scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Settings and privacy and then Settings.

3. Scroll down to Privacy menu and then click on Public posts. Here you can manage who follows you, and who can comment on your public posts.

4. Under Public Post Comments, you can choose who is allowed to comment on your public posts. But people tagged in your public posts and their friends may still be able to comment. Even after choosing an option here, you can still update your individual posts’ comments settings without affecting your general account settings.

5. Next, tap either Public, Friends of friends, or Friends option and your settings will be updated.
How to Disable Comments on a Facebook Post
At the moment it is not possible to disable comments on an individual Facebook post, you need to use the account settings to choose your comments setting for all your posts. You can also choose these generic settings on the individual post.

You can easily change the settings to suit your current need. You also have the option to block someone on Facebook if they are being rude to you or commenting inappropriately on your Facebook post. There’s also the option to edit the privacy of your post.
How to Hide Comments on Facebook From Friends
There is still no direct way to hide comments on Facebook from friends, but you can choose the specific friends you’d like to share the post with or remove the friends you don’t want to see the post. To turn off commenting on a Facebook post you can do this instead;
1. Go to the post you’d like to hide comments on Facebook from friends, you can do this by opening the Facebook app on your iPhone/Android and click on the hamburger menu icon at the top right corner of your Facebook app.

2. Under Menu, click on your name (see your profile), this will open up your Facebook profile, scroll down until you find the post that you’d like to edit the privacy settings.
3. Next, tap the three horizontal dots at the right corner of the post, then tap Edit privacy.

4. Tap See more to reveal all the options;
- To prevent some friends from seeing your post, tap Friends except (this option will not show your post to the friends you add to the list.) Just select the friends from the list of your Facebook friends.
- To share your post with specific friends, tap Specific friends, then tap on their names from the list of your Facebook friends, and your post will be shown to the friends you have added to this list.
- You can also choose to make the post visible to only you, the public, and Friends.

You may not be able to disable comments completely on your Facebook page, but you can choose whether to block profanity from your Facebook page and to what degree, there’s the Off, Medium, and Strong option to choose from.

You can also block posts or comments that contain certain words by entering the words in the box and separating them with a comma.
